Petapalooza Pet Adoption 2017

Salt Lake County Animal Services annual pet adoption extravaganza, Petapalooza, returns Sat., Aug. 26, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Viridian Event Center, 8030 S. 1830 West, West Jordan. Set as a farmers market atmosphere, with a vendor area spread out into the adjacent West Jordan Veterans Memorial Park, there will be hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, birds/ducks, and reptiles from over a dozen different pet rescues across Utah.

If you’re not looking for a pet, there will be pet-related products and services offered by nearly 50 vendors, including Liz Dranow Photography, Haute Dog Couture, DogMode, Side by Side Dog Training, The Dog Dive, Pet Wants and Purring Buddha. Pet owners are invited to bring their, furry, feathered and scaly pets for some fun events: a pet psychic, Course A ‘Lure dog race track, a pet photo booth and more. The Food Truck League will have tasty offerings from a variety of yummy trucks. Plus, Salt Lake County Animal Services will be on hand to vaccinate, microchip and license pets, in its jurisdiction as well. Remember all dogs must be on leash and cats in carriers.

At Petapalooza, about 100 pets are adopted out within seven hours. If you’re looking to add a pup to your brood, it’s highly recommended to bring your dogs with you.

Salt Lake County Animal Services is the largest no-kill municipal shelter in Utah. Our Animal Control Officers provide responsive, timely assistance to animal related issues in the community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Animal Services provides a variety of amenities to current and potential pet owners: low cost vaccinations and sterilizations, pet adoptions, and free/low-cost microchips to ensure pets return to their loving owners.
