Salt Lake City Leather Pride Festival donates over $10K to UAF Legacy Health
The Salt Lake City Leather Pride Festival closed out its 2025 season with a major gift to Utah’s most vital LGBTQ+ health institutions. During the Utah AIDS Foundation/UAF Legacy Health’s 40th Anniversary Celebration on World AIDS Day, festival organizer Michael Sanders presented UAF Legacy Health with a $10,438 donation, raised from this year’s Leather Pride festivities.
Sanders said the moment underscored the power of community-driven events to directly support queer health and wellbeing.
“It was an honor to produce the 40th Anniversary Celebration for the Utah AIDS Foundation on World AIDS Day this week in Salt Lake City,” Sanders said. “It also was awesome to be able to present the organization with a 10K check from the proceeds of this year’s Salt Lake City Leather Pride Festival. What a great night, and thank you to all the many volunteers and community partners that made it all happen— as Velma Kelly said: but I can’t do it alone!”
The contribution comes as UAF Legacy Health continues expanding services, providing HIV/STI testing, prevention programs, affirming primary care, and community support. Sanders added that the partnership isn’t slowing down anytime soon:
“Next up for UAF Legacy Health will be the Oscar Night Gala in March… keep your socks up ’cause you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”
The 2025 Leather Pride Festival drew record attendance and continues to establish itself as one of Utah’s most impactful LGBTQ fundraisers.
