Utah Pride 2025 photo book now available for pre-order
A new photography book celebrating the faces of Utah’s LGBTQ+ community is now available for pre-order, offering a lasting visual record of the people who attended the 2025 Utah Pride Festival.
Proud in Utah 2025 is a full-color hardcover portrait book featuring more than 500 individuals photographed during the two-day festival. What makes the project unique is its inclusive scope: every single person who stepped into the photographers’ booth during the festival is included in the book, creating a sweeping visual snapshot of Pride in Utah.
Photographers Steve Conlin and Nick Sokoloff set up a professional studio-style booth at the festival, inviting attendees to sit for portraits against simple black or white backdrops. Over two days, hundreds of festivalgoers — individuals, couples, families, and friends — stepped in front of the camera.
The result is a striking 9-by-12-inch coffee-table book, printed on 100-pound matte paper, spanning 184 full-color pages. Portraits appear in a variety of sizes throughout the book, emphasizing both individuality and the collective power of the community.
“This book is about community,” Conlin said in announcing the project. “It’s about honoring the people who show up, who live authentically, and who make Utah’s LGBTQ+ community vibrant and visible.”
The book also features an introduction by Michael Aaron, publisher and editor of QSaltLake Magazine, which places the portraits in the broader context of Utah’s evolving LGBTQ+ community and the significance of Pride celebrations in the state.
Pre-orders for Proud in Utah 2025 are available now for $49.99 through March 31. After that date, the book’s regular price will increase to $59.99, and only a limited number of copies will be available.
Organizers say pre-orders will help determine the size of the initial print run and keep the book affordable.
Beyond serving as a keepsake for participants, the project also supports the community it documents. One hundred percent of profits from the book will be donated to the Utah Pride Center, helping fund programs such as youth services, mental health resources, advocacy efforts, and community events.
Books will be available for in-person pickup in mid-April at several locations, including Pictureline, the Utah Pride Center, City Weekly offices, Ogden’s Own Distillery, and Underground Books in Ogden.
With hundreds of familiar faces and a commitment to preserving Pride history, the book transforms two days of portraits into a permanent record of LGBTQ+ visibility in Utah.
